关于征求学校主要教学与研究机构名称英文译写意见的公告
为促进学校国际沟通交流，提升学校文化品牌形象，实施学校视觉识别系统，将在全校范围逐步开展《上海外国语大学专有名词英文译写规范》项目，规范常用术语的英语表达。本阶段拟首先对学校主要教学与研究机构的英文译名进行规范，征求意见稿公示如下：

说明：
1）本规范综合参照了英语国家和地区高校的通用译写方案，并经外籍专家初审。
2）为最大限度规避表达混乱和理解歧义（如College在语境不明确的情况下，可指书院、技术类学院、社区学校、文理学院等），本译名规范方案对“学院”（School）、“系”（Department）、“研究院、研究所、研究基地”（Institute / Research Institute）、“研究中心”（Center / Research Center）的英文译写进行统一规范。
3）所有机构英译名（或缩写）在行文中应尽可能避免单独使用，需注明学校的规范英译名（或缩写），以明确语境，例如：“School of Law, Shanghai International Studies University”、“School of Law, SISU”、“SISU’s School of Law”、“GIIT, SISU”等。
为做好专有名词英文译写规范工作，兹对以上修订稿征求意见。请将意见或建议发送至xcb@shisu.edu.cn，邮件标题请注明“英文译写规范”，并在正文中详述修改建议和理由，学校将对有建设性的意见给予奖励。意见征集时间自2013年3月22日起至3月31日止。
